An audit of the state’s 911 emergency phone line operations found that Utah’s largest dispatch center hasn’t met national call answering standards in more than five years, forcing thousands of callers a year to wait more than a minute to report emergencies.

Two years ago, Kosciusko County government embarked on having a health and wellness program for its employees.
On Tuesday, the county commissioners recognized some employees for their success in a walking program.

The Owen Sound Police Service completed 911 transfer tests this week, finishing a long and difficult process of Next Generation 911 compatibility.

The union representing city of Spokane fire dispatchers is once again at odds with leaders of the county’s new 911 dispatch center.
The dispatch center, Spokane Regional Emergency Communications, or SREC, switched to a new computer system last week that limits the role of city fire dispatchers in the emergency response process.
