911, EMA settling into a much-needed new home (KY)

Jefferson County 911 and Emergency Management have spent the past year responding to their own emergency: creating enough office space to do their jobs to the fullest of their abilities.

Dispatch spent the month of July settling into its new home at the Jefferson County Public Safety Center on Green Road — a three-part office for 911, the Emergency Management Agency (EMA) and space to house certain courthouse records — and planned to be fully operational in the new center June 23, but software glitches in the new computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system caused delays while the department worked to make things right…

9-1-1 call center acquiring Geographic Information System to assist first responders (IL)

Big changes are coming to the Edgar County Emergency Telephone System Call Center as the county’s 911 system moves to Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG911), according to Nanette Crippes, the county’s 911 director.
