First, I want to thank everyone who has responded to our survey. It will be up for a few more weeks, so please take a few minutes to fill it out if you have not done so.
Spending a few minutes on this survey will help us make sure we are addressing what you are interested in and identify some early trends from your responses. I believe this information will be of great interest to all of us and I will share more interesting (anonymous) results with you.
Some of the first feedback is that this survey seems to be designed to elicit responses from the public-safety community but it does not include questions for the vendor community. This observation is correct. I am working on a second survey designed for vendors of devices, applications, and more. It is important for both public-safety and vendor communities to respond to surveys such as this. I expect much of what we learn from the first survey will be of interest to the vendor community and, likewise, the public-safety community will gain insights from the results of the vendor survey. CHARLES TOWN — The Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce recently held its public service recognition ceremony. Because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the ceremony was held virtually via a video posted on the chamber’s YouTube page.

HAMILTON COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) – There is a push to create a statewide 911 connected system in Ohio. It’s part of House Bill 445.
Andrew Knapp, the communications director for the Hamilton County Communications Center says the current 911 system was developed for landlines decades ago.
He says in many places outside large urban areas like Hamilton County, you’re only able to call for help.

The Seattle Fire Department Nurse Navigation Program will provide Seattle residents access to customized care options to meet their specific medical needs
SEATTLE – Today, the Seattle Fire Department announced that it has partnered with American Medical Response (AMR) to bring a new and innovative healthcare solution to help area residents and visitors quickly reach the most appropriate level of care when calling 911. AUSTIN (KXAN) – More 911 calls coming into Austin’s 911 center and there is less staff to answer them. That means some people might be put on hold.
That’s what Lt. Kenneth Murphy, head of Austin Police Department’s communications division said during Monday’s public safety committee meeting.
Lt. Murphy says in 2019, operators were answering 99% of calls within 10 seconds. Now with all the vacancies and more calls coming in, dispatchers are only able to answer 90% of calls within 10 seconds…
