We analyzed 496 emergency communications officer resumes along with a trove of other data to determine the demographics for emergency communications officers. Just to be clear, by demographics we mean the study of population-based factors like age, race and sex. On top of scouring through resumes, we also took note of job proposals from employers and Census Bureau data. And guess what? We found some pretty interesting information.
For example, the emergency communications officers workforce reached a whopping 42,071!

As calls from COVID-19 patients flood L.A. County’s medical system, the area’s ambulances and emergency rooms are being stretched to capacity.
Some ambulance drivers report waiting for up to six hours to unload patients at hospitals, and their standard response time to 9-1-1 calls has grown from nine to 12 minutes.
To address the problem, emergency medical dispatchers are sending drivers to hospitals with shorter wait times, and some medical centers have hired extra staff to monitor patients so ambulances can get back in the field… READ MORE

911 dispatchers in British Columbia are asking residents not to call them to report individuals breaking coronavirus lockdown measures, as it ties up resources which could be used for more urgent situations, CTV News reports.

Patrick was born on July 10, 1974 in Centerville, IL; the son of the late Carlton and Shirley (Statler) Spivey. Patrick was a proud volunteer fireman and dispatcher for the Madison Fire Department; 911 dispatcher for the city of Madison and also served as a supervisor dispatcher for the Belleville Police Department and was a dispatcher for US Steel. Patrick was a well known outdoorsman who was an expert trout fisherman and loved to camp and deer hunt.
