Harlen Wayne “Tiny” Porter, 84, of Murphysboro passed away at 1:47 a.m. on Friday, March 12, 2021 in Carbondale. Harlen was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Murphysboro. The UT Dallas Police Department and colleagues across campus are mourning the loss of Police Communications Supervisor Lisa Alexander, who died Thursday of natural causes. She was 48.Alexander was instrumental in setting up the Police Department’s new dispatch center in 2008, the year after she joined the University.

From conception to construction, the building of the Jacksonville Public Safety Complex remains on schedule for completion in July 2021.
The complex is being constructed on city-owned property at the corner of South Bolton and Devereaux Streets. The approximately 28,000 square-foot facility will be home to the city’s fire and police departments, dispatch and the emergency operations center which can double as a training space…
