VAN BUREN — Crawford County will look into building a new facility for its emergency dispatchers in the wake of the covid-19 pandemic.
The Crawford County Quorum Court approved a resolution expressing support for making a request for proposals to determine the feasibility of such a facility at its regular meeting Monday.
This comes after the Crawford County American Rescue Plan Committee approved a more than $1.07 million proposal by Joanie Best, the county’s director of 911 communications, to build a new facility for the county emergency communications center Nov. 2. TRENTON, NJ (MERCER)–During a special meeting at noon today, Trenton City Council approved a proposal to move Trenton radio operations to N.J. State Police frequencies and provide $10.1 million to upgrade the City’s entire emergency radio system with state-of-the-art equipment, Mayor W. Reed Gusciora announced.
The proposal gives Trenton police, fire, public works, and water utility personnel access to superior state radio frequencies and new equipment compatible with that system, including a complete retrofit of the TPD emergency radio room. The City’s 911 phone system – which is outdated and at risk of malfunction – will also be replaced well in advance of related statewide public safety mandates in the next few years…
Tonight the City Council approved a Non-Emergency Police/Fire/Medical dispatch contract for Grant County and the city of Milbank in the amount of $24,000. The one-year contract with begin on January 1st.

ARAPAHOE COUNTY, CO — Arapahoe County residents who call the non-emergency sheriff’s number will hear a new automated attendant beginning at 7 a.m. Wednesday.
The sheriff’s non-emergency number, 303-795-4711, will offer an ‘auto attendant,’ which will route calls to the correct department, the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office said.

Newly hired 911 director Bob Swick told his advisory board this week that Central Dispatch is close to filling all positions.
After years of struggling to find and keep staff members, two interviewed candidates have been sent for physicals, Swick said. Additional interviews are expected to fill the 11th and final dispatch position.
