New dispatch center opens in Williston (ND)

WILLISTON, N.D. — The old Sloulin Field airport terminal in Williston is now the home of two emergency services for the region.

Starting Tuesday, the Upper Missouri River Regional Dispatch Center is taking calls through the state-of-the-art facility. The Williams County Emergency Management operations center is also located inside, where they will provide training and serve as a base of operation in the event of a widescale emergency.

Gov. Beshear plans historic investment to improve public safety (KY)

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WBKO) – Today, Gov. Andy Beshear unveiled part of his upcoming budget plan, which he said makes historic investments in law enforcement so the commonwealth can be a leader in improving public safety.

The Governor’s two-year budget plan provides millions of dollars to fund competitive salaries for Kentucky State Police (KSP) troopers, officers, and telecommunicators, supply recording devices for KSP sworn troopers, and increase the peace officer training stipend. Governor Kathy Hochul today announced the Chemung County Office of Fire and Emergency Management has received accreditation through New York’s Local Emergency Management Accreditation Program. Chemung County joins 13 other emergency management organizations in receiving achieve accreditation. The county joins Albany, Broome, Erie, Livingston, Madison, Montgomery, Nassau, Oneida, Saratoga, Washington, and Wayne counties, as well as New York City, in this formal recognition

The Department of Homeland Security’s Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate has awarded Mobility 4 Public Safety $1.5 million to advance its dedicated messaging and collaboration tool for first responders.

The company’s Bridge 4 Public Safety (Bridge4PS), a secure communications platform exclusively for public safety practitioners in the U.S., was initially launched with funding from DHS’ Mobility Acceleration Coalition as a proof-of-concept in 2019. It was designed to close the communication gap for emergency responders by enabling safe and encrypted messaging as well as interoperability for sharing files, locations, pictures and videos across different agencies and on iOS and Android personal and agency devices. San Diego police, fire departments to get new radios under $51M contract (CA)

San Diego police and fire department radios that are now considered obsolete will be replaced under a $51 million contract the City Council approved Tuesday, city officials said.

The contract with Motorola Solutions Inc. will replace more than 7,000 radios that police officers, firefighters and dispatchers use to communicate with one another.
