County EMA considers solutions for crisis (PA)

CLARION – There may be short-term and long-term solutions available for the emergency medical crisis in Clarion County.

Lue Wilson, the assistant secretary of the Clarion County Township Association, said Monday at a meeting of the county Emergency Management Committee that the previous limits placed on the use of the American Rescue Plan money have been eased.

Augusta Co. uses ARPA funds to help Sheriff’s Office, improve Government Center (VA)

AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) – Augusta County is figuring out how to spend its American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.

Wednesday night, the Board of Supervisors voted to help out the sheriff’s office and make some improvements at the Government Center in Verona.

APCO Announces Final Approval of Two American National Standards

Alexandria, VA – The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International received final approval from the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) on January 18, 2022, for revisions of two American National Standards (ANS).

It is with a heavy heart we mourn the loss of one of Santa Barbara Police’s finest, Police Officer and Dispatch Supervisor Gina Battaglia, who passed away suddenly from a work-related illness in August 2021.

Gina joined the Santa Barbara Police Department in September 2007 as a police officer working patrol, and later was promoted to Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) officer in October 2015. One of her greatest CSI skills was finding and collecting fingerprints. If a burglar had known it was Gina investigating the crime, they would have given the crime a second thought.

In July 2018, Gina transferred to the Santa Barbara Police Combined Communications Center as a dispatcher, and later was promoted to dispatch supervisor…

Former 911 dispatcher gets deferred sentence for impersonating sheriff (MT)

A deferred sentence means that the charge can be removed from a person’s record if they comply with all conditions of the sentence. For Ward, those conditions include not being in possession of guns or other dangerous weapons, not listening to or monitoring law enforcement communications and following all local, state and federal laws.

GREENFIELD, N.Y. — Residents in Greenfield are benefiting from the town’s investment in Greenfield Ambulance, a partnership with Corinth EMS that has resulted in quicker response times by the ambulance company, town officials said Tuesday.

Greenfield Ambulance, headquartered at 14 S. Greenfield Road, is a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week, shared services partnership with Corinth EMS. The renovated building opened New Year’s Day and is staffed at all times with an emergency medical technician and paramedic, with both an ambulance and a first response vehicle.

The new building will be the legacy of retired Town Supervisor Daniel Pemrick, his successor, Town Supervisor Kevin Veitch said at the facility…
