UPDATE: U.S. Senators Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) and Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.) announced they’ve secured $93.8 million in Community Project Funding to support 52 Nevada programs and construction projects across the state as part of the Fiscal Year 2022 omnibus appropriations package. If passed, more than $8.2 million would go to Carson City projects.
Among the Carson City area projects the Nevada senators have helped secure, $2 million to construct an Emergency Operations Center, Fire Station, Emergency Dispatch Center in Carson City to improve emergency preparedness, $2 million to upgrade downtown Carson City streets and improve their safety, $700,000 to support a Commercial Driver’s License Training Program at Western Nevada College to alleviate supply chain backups and train recently displaced workers, and $500,000 in funding to support Carson City’s Safe Routes to School program…

KING CITY — Residents in King City are among the first in the state to use a new community engagement and feedback solution service after an interaction with the King City Police Department.
The new program, called CueHit, launched locally on March 5 and uses text messaging to contact some 911 callers and others who have recently reported or been involved in non-life-threatening incidents.
These text messages are sent hours or days after the incident and will ask residents to take a quick survey about their experience with the police department. It will also allow residents to provide their own comments, feedback and words of gratitude after receiving public safety service…

WAUKESHA, Wis. (AP) — Waukesha fire and police officials say an error in a dispatch system caused a delay in the response to a fatal apartment fire earlier this week.
At a news conference Wednesday afternoon, police Capt. Dan Baumann estimated a response delay of about 5 minutes because a computer-aided system that provides an audio and visual alert to the fire stations did not operate as designed.
A dispatcher had to manually override the system to sound the alert to the stations and relay it over the radio…
