Commissioners move to upgrade county’s public safety radio system (PA)

Lebanon County commissioners took two major steps on Thursday to upgrade the county’s obsolete public safety radio system.

They unanimously approved the purchase of nearly 2,000 field radios at a cost of $12.95 million for the county’s Department of Emergency Services (DES). The contract includes, in addition to 1,989 radios, batteries, cases, chargers and equipment installation.

Baldwin Borough resident Will McDine has combined his passion for building and love of a classic first responder TV show into a potential package for a Danish toy company.

The Allegheny County dispatcher and former Castle Shannon volunteer firefighter has created a LEGO set in honor of “Emergency!” an NBC show from the 1970s.

Created by Robert Cinader and Harold Jack Bloom, it centered around the crew of Los Angeles County Fire Department Station 51 and its paramedic team…

West Plains Police Department recognizes dispatcher during Women’s History Month (MO)

To help celebrate Women’s History Month in March, the West Plains Police Department recognized Paula, who has worked at the department for 15 years and is currently a dispatcher. 

“Our Dispatchers are our Officers ‘Lifeline’ providing the most updated information that officers need to know as they respond. Leetonia looks to shift dispatch to Columbiana (OH)

LEETONIA–Village council is considering a contract with Columbiana for emergency dispatch services.

Council last week tabled an emergency resolution authorizing Mayor Kevin Siembida to contract with Columbiana for dispatch. The resolution will be revisited at the next council meeting after council members have an opportunity to review the issue.
