CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The consolidation of Clarksville’s and Montgomery County’s E-911 dispatch centers, which has been in the works since at least 2018, has fallen through, according to Clarksville’s chief of police.
The decision to keep the departments separate was made by Police Chief David Crockarell in mid-March, and he announced it at the most recent E-911 District Board meeting on March 17.
The attempt to consolidate city dispatchers – who work under CPD to dispatch for police and Clarksville Fire Rescue – with the E-911 Center was suggested several years ago, long before Crockarell was sworn in as chief of police in 2020, Scott Beaubien, CPD spokesman, told Clarksville Now…

The IWCE made a triumphant return with IWCE 2022! Some may say it was smaller than earlier IWCEs or perhaps the show floor did not have as many vendors, but smaller or fewer vendors is not what matters. What does matter is that overall, the show was a great success.

The Southwestern Pennsylvania Emergency Response Regional Task Force said this allows people with hearing and/or speech impairments to access 911, as well as people in situations where it’s unsafe to talk.
Non-emergency calls should still be communicated to emergency services through non-emergency phone lines, the task force said.
Allegheny County began using text-to-911 since 2014, but residents and visitors could not use that once they crossed the border into neighboring counties…

SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. — Shasta County’s primary dispatch service, ShasCom, is understaffed and looking for dispatchers.
ShasCom is a joint-powers agency that works with Redding police and fire, Anderson Police, Shasta County EMS, and the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office. Of the 39 dispatch jobs they can fill, ShasCom currently has seven openings.
It’s a challenging task to fill these positions, and the job itself is not for the faint-hearted. But ShasCom is hopeful they can find those motivated to keep the public safe… READ MORE
