GORDON, Ala. (WTVY) – A Gordon family is mourning the loss of its long-time family home after a fire left it shambles late Tuesday night.
Fortunately, they aren’t mourning the loss of any loved ones, thanks in part to an Ashford Elementary schooler.
“I
saw a fire from all the way over there,” said Ashford Elementary Fifth
Grader Brandon Hayes. “It was just high up, see how it is now? It wasn’t

Hayes said he could still see the fire every time he closes his eyes.

As the first significant snow of the
season approached northern Arizona this week, many made the decision to
drive slow and ease into the curves on the road.
There
were reports of some crashes, like an overturned Coors beer truck on

they could.
Katie Brandis, a communications manager who oversees the dispatchers, couldn’t….

The Marion County Commission signed a resolution to officially recognize dispatchers as first responders at its Nov. 20 meeting.
“To
honor the men and women who serve in this crucial position, we
recognize these individuals throughout Marion County by proclaiming to
consider them true ‘First Responders,’” the commission stated in a
resolution.
The
resolution goes on to state that 911 public safety telecommunicators
serve 24 hours a day, seven days a week, just like firefighters, law
enforcement officers and emergency medical service workers.
It states that 911 public safety telecommunicators….
