Owens police dispatchers get raises (OH)

PERRYSBURG — Owens Community College has given its police department dispatchers a pay increase and also has built in a lump sum payment for three years.

At its December meeting, the board of trustees approved an hourly rate of $14 for the five Fraternal Order of Police dispatchers.

Kaua’i dispatchers recognized for assisting with delivery of baby (HI)

Kaua’i, HI (KITV) — The Kaua’i Police Department recognized two of their dispatchers after assisting a caller with the delivery of a baby.

A man called 911 to report that his wife was in labor and delivering their child around 2:30 a.m. back in September of 2019. The caller reported that the baby’s head was crowning and within a few minutes, the baby was delivered.

TOWN OF MOHAWK, NY (WRGB) — A 911 dispatcher is being credited for helping authorities arrest a 20-year-old man charged in the killing of his father.

Ilion police put additional officer on street (NY)

ILION — The Ilion Police Station will be closed “intermittently” to keep more officers on the street and reduce a duplication of services.

A Dec. 30 Facebook post by the village of Ilion stated the station will “be closed intermittently from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.” starting Jan. 2, adding “Police Officers are on duty; however, during that time the station desk is not staffed and those needing immediate assistance can use the phone outside the door to contact the 911 Center.”
