The issue of dispatch services in the city of Oconomowoc has been a topic of discussion for years, and now officials have decided to disband the local dispatch center at its public safety building in favor of a countywide option.

Last week, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) entered into Consent Decrees with eight Covered 911 Service Providers for failing to timely file their required 911 reliability certification in 2020.
The Rules
As background, the FCC adopted rules in 2013 aimed at improving 911 network reliability. The rules require Covered 911 Service Providers (“Providers”) to take certain measures to provide reliable 911 service. WOODSTOCK, GA — A decorated officer, paramedic and veteran has taken the helm of Cherokee E 9-1-1.
Shane Bonebrake, who recently retired from the Woodstock Police Department, was named the new E 9-1-1 director. His first day on the job was Monday, Oct. 4.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – The Richmond County 911 Communications Center is experiencing a staffing shortage and looking for qualified people to join their team.
At the call center, there are 911 operators who strictly answer the phones, and there are communications officers whose role is to answer phones and dispatch first responders.

The new communications center for the Burnet County Sheriff’s Office went online Wednesday, Sept. 22, after four years in the works. According to those in charge, as well as those in front of the microphones, the upgrade is a huge success.
“Burnet County now has a state-of-the-art communications system,” Capt. Chris Jett said. “We are now as good as the agencies to the east of us. This prepares us for the growth that’s coming.”
The dispatchers themselves agree. When asked what they like best about the new equipment and space, dispatchers Katie Fox and Alyssa Rios, who were on duty when DailyTrib.com dropped by, said in unison: “Everything!”
