Dispatchers answer 9-1-1 and other emergency telephone systems in a multi-jurisdictional dispatch center, and perform radio dispatch of operational and emergency police, fire and medical calls for assistance, which involve performing a wide variety of computer transactions and records functions.

Job Duties:

Answer 911 and non-emergency phone calls from the public to rapidly assimilate information to determine which resource (police, fire, EMS) is needed. Operate a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system, an NCIC/TCIC console, and an interoperable radio console. Monitor Texas State intrusion and fire alarms via SureGuard, Insight, and Fireworks. Monitor video surveillance system. Monitor CS Gold access system. Receive calls from external alarm monitoring companies. Monitor RAVE Guardian system for emergency notifications. Monitor after hours CSA email. Monitors, enters, maintains, updates and researches information into TCIC/NCIC (Texas Criminal Information Center and National Criminal Information Center) and TLETS/NLETS (Texas Law Enforcement Telecommunications System/National Law Enforcement Telecommunication System) databases.
