City of Pueblo’s 911 phone bill surcharge to more than double (CO)

Pueblo residents with telephone lines will pay about a dollar more each month per phone to fund the city’s 911 communications center.

Pueblo Police Chief Troy Davenport presented the fee increase to Pueblo City Council on Monday night.

FCC rejects calls to delay indoor location accuracy improvements

Carriers won’t get more time to meet vertical location, or z-axis, accuracy requirements for cellular devices that are set to take effect in April.

The Federal Communications has rejected requests from CTIA and the Association of Public Safety Communication Officials (APCO) to delay the implementation of new requirements on improved accuracy for reporting the indoor location of wireless callers, including three-meter accuracy of a device’s vertical position within multi-story buildings…

9-1-1 outage impacts 8 Minnesota counties

ROCHESTER, Minn. – 9-1-1 service is now restored after and 8-county outage that lasted hours.

According to Minnesota Emergency Communication Networks, the 9-1-1 outage affected residents in Olmsted, Dodge, Freeborn, Mower, Rice, Steele, Wabasha, and Winona counties.

In Olmsted county, a notification of the outage went out around 4 p.m. and phones didn’t beep again to say it was restored until 8 p.m…

DPS Announces New Communications Chief (TX)
