The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office has issued its first emergency communication radio to the Lynnville-Sully School District.
Lt. Brad Shutts said in a press release this emergency radio is equipped with an automatic red alert button to notify Jasper County Communications and all Jasper County law enforcement of an emergency situation at the school. The emergency communications radio also gives the school district direct communication with the Jasper County Communications Center and first responders for developments and changes in the emergency situation… READ MORE

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – While many people are concerned about the thought of losing power to their homes, EMSA officials are stressing that you shouldn’t panic. For the past two days, Southwest Power Pool reported that its grid was overloaded.

For several years, my bonus daughter Katie was a 911 dispatcher based here in Tri-cities. She loved it and excelled at it. But there were certainly very stressful moments. She’s focusing on being a mom right now, but I remember her saying that the benefits are excellent and the pay is good, but the experience is priceless. She hasn’t talked about too many of the things that happened (I think they’re not supposed to), only some generalities about crazy calls and such. She was even named Dispatcher Of the Year! …

Jefferson County’s sole 911 communications dispatch center, JeffCom, recently welcomed the arrival of its new director Stacie Huibregtse.
Huibregtse is a Marine Corps veteran in addition to being a career dispatcher for the Washington State Patrol. Huibregtse actually happens to be a little more than a longtime dispatcher, she was previously in charge of the training program for up-and-coming dispatchers…
