The Public Safety Next Generation 9-1-1 Coalition recently released a press release applauding the introduction of the Next Generation 9-1-1 Act of 2021 as part of the LIFT America Act. The inclusion of Next Generation 9-1-1 in the legislation signals that Congress recognizes the critical importance of upgrading our nation’s outdated, underfunded and technologically inadequate 911 infrastructure. The number of calls for service dispatched by the Stutsman County Communications Center continued a downward trend, according to Jerry Bergquist, emergency manager and 911 coordinator for the county.
Statistics for 2020 indicate 26,521 calls for service compared to 28,318 for 2019 and 30,241 in 2018.
