SPRINGFIELD, NJ — The township has entered into a contract agreement with Mountain Valley Emergency Communications Center (MVECC), a regional public safety answering point, to provide 9-1-1 services to all Springfield residents and businesses and emergency dispatching services for the Springfield Fire Department and Springfield First Aid Squad.
MVECC will begin answering all wireless and wireline 9-1-1 calls originating in Springfield Township in June. Knox 911 is a stand-alone entity whose mission is to answer and dispatch all emergency calls in our community. We provide dispatch services to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Knoxville Police Department, Knoxville Fire Department and Karns Fire Department. Any medical calls received in our center are transferred to American Medical Response for them to dispatch emergency medical responders to our citizens.
