The National 911 Program has selected consulting firm Mission Critical Partners to pilot and evaluate the first subset of the 911 DataPath data exchange model.
The National 911 Program, housed within the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Office of Emergency Medical Services, is responsible for improving coordination and communication among Federal, state, and local 911 centers and their personnel, and telecommunications carriers and vendors.
In a press release, the National 911 Program said the pilot project is the “next step in building a national 911 data system as envisioned by the 911 DataPath Initiative.” The first step was the publication of a strategic plan for the “universe” of 911 data, and the second was the release of Administrative Data for 911 Decision-Making, which features the first subset of the 911 data…

Carrie Napiorkowski was in her home off Fitzhugh Road in Dripping Springs on the Monday before Thanksgiving when the unthinkable happened.
A contractor and longtime family friend, Rene Gaytan, was working on the roof of Napiorkowski’s home when he fell and suffered fatal injuries.
Napiorkowski’s husband immediately called 911 and they both administered CPR while on the phone with the operator.

While most Warren County residents are enjoying Christmas Day with their families, a group of dispatchers will be seated at their consoles in the Vicksburg-Warren 911 Dispatch Center handling phone calls and directing other first responders to emergencies.

GATESVILLE – On Friday, Dec. 17, the Gates County 911 Communications Center enacted a previously signed Mutual Aid Agreement with the Perquimans County 911 Center due to sudden staffing shortages.
The implementing of this agreement called for the temporary relocation of the Gates County 911 Dispatch Center to the 911 Dispatch Center in Perquimans County.

Gov. Andy Beshear and the Kentucky State Police (KSP) announced Dec. 16 there are currently 45 full-time and part-time telecommunicator positions available at 14 post locations across the commonwealth. This is the highest vacancy rate in the agency’s history for telecommunicators, which is one of the most essential roles in law enforcement’s ability to respond to emergencies and critical needs of the state.
