Atlanta’s 911 center loses power again, police say calls still being handled (GA)

Atlanta‘s 911 system is experiencing server issues due to a power system failure on Thursday night.

The Atlanta Police Department said 911 operators are still able to take calls and dispatch units, but the issue is with the computer-aided dispatch system that helps prioritize those calls.

“We remain able to receive and dispatch 911 calls. We have contingencies in place to ensure we maintain emergency services, even while experiencing issues like this,” the department said in a statement…

GM 911 Re-Accredited as World’s 134th Medical ACE (NC)

Guilford Metro 911 received its re-accreditation from the International Academy of Emergency Dispatch (IAED) as an Accredited Center for Emergency (ACE) Medical Dispatch. This is GM 911’s fifth re-accreditation and makes it the world’s 134th medical ACE.

GM 911 will be recognized for this accomplishment at the NAVIGATOR 2022 conference April 27-29 in Nashville, TN. Last month, GM 911 received its sixth re-accreditation from IAED for fire dispatch…

Bureau Emergency Communications receives unexpected 911 call from Arizona

At 2:23 a.m. on Jan. 16 of this year, LEAD Telecommunicator at Bureau Emergency Communications, Dawn Porter, received a cellular 911 call that displayed zero information in the organization’s system.

SIDNEY — The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office recently enabled RapidSOS, a solution that provides life-saving data – including caller location, health and medical information, connected building and alarm date, vehicle telematics data, and more – to 911 telecommunicators and first responders in the event of an emergency.

Lucas County’s 911 consolidation runs into early issues (OH)

TOLEDO, Ohio — It’s been four months since Lucas County’s eight regional 911 call centers were consolidated into one central hub at the 911 Regional Council of Governments in Central Toledo.
