Officials in Las Cruces say the lines that connect 911 calls to dispatchers in the City of the Crosses were down on Tuesday, but are working once again.
The Mesilla Valley Regional Dispatch Authority says even though the lines to the main dispatch center were down, 911 calls were answered at a backup facility throughout the day.
“It definitely does impact us because our 911 lines were cut off and our non-emergency lines were cut off and our non-emergency lines which people use to get ahold of us for day to day issues that are non-emergency were also cut off,” said Albert Flores the Director Mesilla Valley Regional Dispatch Authority…
SHERIDAN — A bill sponsored by the Wyoming Legislature’s Joint Transportation, Highways and Military Affair Committee would require telecommunicator cardiopulmonary resuscitation — or teleCPR — training for Wyoming dispatchers.

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Fire Chief Darryl Jones, a career firefighter whose decade-plus tenure in the city culminated in helping lead the response to the Fern Hollow Bridge collapse in recent days, took over as the city’s emergency management coordinator on Monday.

ATLANTA – After a chance encounter with a homeless mother and child at an Atlanta shopping center, Ruby-Beth Buitekant wanted to help. She dialed ATL 311.
“I decided this would be a perfect opportunity to call PAD at 311,” Buitekant told FOX 5’s Deidra Duke. “So I called them not knowing necessarily that they would absolutely be able to do whatever is needed, but I knew it was an alternative to calling the police.”
