Three Glenview Public Safety telecommunicators were honored by Lake Forest city and fire department officials last month for their life-saving efforts in two separate incidents that saved the lives of two individuals who went into cardiac arrest.
Honored with Lake Forest “Clinical Save Award” certificates on Monday, Jan. 24 were Glenview Public Safety Dispatch telecommunicators Alia Shukur, a seven-year telecommunicator, Tina Melone, a four-year telecommunicator, and Frankie Bonilla, a four-year telecommunicator.

SANTA ROSA, Calif. (KRON) — To kick off Women’s History Month, the Santa Rosa Fire Department will be hosting its first-ever “Women’s Public Safety Day,” this upcoming weekend. 911 Emergency Communications Dispatcher Shannon Haaga is Dickinson County’s February Telecommunicator of the Month.
Haaga received a certificate and pin for her “excellent work” in February, according to 911 Emergency Communications Director Emily Nichols.
“It’s just a way of saying, ‘Hey, you did a great job and I want everyone to know’,” Nichols explained.
Haaga, who has worked as a Dickinson County dispatcher for five years, is the first person to be honored as telecommunicator of the month. During her time with the county, Haaga has grown to be an “excellent public telecommunicator,” Nichols said…

Orange County has dramatically upgraded its communications countywide by implementing a new public safety P25 land mobile radio system.
