SAN DIEGO — Three months after the Sheriff’s Department encrypted its radio communications, the department last week rolled out a online page that shows what calls deputies are handling.
The department said the page allows transparency by providing information to the public without disclosing people’s personal information.
One critic who previously relied on scanners to track law enforcement activity said the information on the page is limited, but it’s better than no information at all…

People who live in Tulsa County can now create a health profile to help give dispatchers important information in case of an emergency. The program is called ‘Rapid SOS.’
By creating a profile, dispatchers can receive critical information in a situation where you might not be able to communicate it.

PIO officer, Victoria Hill, says the 9-1-1 call center issue was resolved early this morning at around three in the morning and everything appears to be working smoothly.
The 9 -1-1 communications center serving Billings and Yellowstone County is experiencing a nationwide outage. The cause of this outage is unknown. The press release sent out by the city of Billings says the communications center is affecting landlines and cell phones differently.
Dispatchers have created a system so that citizens can still call 9-1-1. If you get a busy signal, hang up and try again. If you are not able to call the center at all, try using a different phone if possible… READ MORE

COTTONWOOD, Ariz. – Police in northern Arizona have arrested a man accused of threatening to fly a plane into their police and fire communications center.

Hawkins County Central Dispatch has been “crippled” by the recent resignation of three experienced dispatchers, leaving the agency down to two dispatchers per shift, according to 911 director Lynn Campbell.
Campbell told the County Commission’s Public Safety Committee Wednesday he will be requesting a $120,000 funding increase from the county commission in the 2022-23 budget.
The additional funds would allow him to increase his staff from two to four dispatchers per shift, as well as increasing starting pay from $13 to $15 per hour to improve employee recruitment and retention…
