The Clark County Sheriff’s Office has launched an internal investigation into a dispatcher after a complaint was filed against them in regards to a how a particular 911 call was handled this week.
On Monday, dispatchers several received 911 calls reporting that multiple people were stuck on Mad River, near Eagle City Road, and needed help getting out of the water.

YOUNGSTOWN — Poland Township officials addressed their concerns Thursday to Mahoning County commissioners about having two dispatching services for police and fire calls.
But they were reminded of how much better the system works now than it used to — and were asked to be patient for more improvements.

Audrain County 911 emergency services now have the ability to receive 911 text messages through certain carriers.
“This has been a long time coming,” said Amanda Crewse, Audrain County 911 emergency services director, in a release. “This is not only a step toward Next Generation 911 but, it could potentially save lives in incidents such as home invasions, active shooters, domestic violence incidents; essentially any situation where a caller needs to be silent so the assailant doesn’t hear them.”

Among the actions Halifax County is requesting the court to rule on in a complaint filed by the city of Roanoke Rapids regarding the charging of 911 service is one in which the court determines whether other municipalities should be joined in the proceeding.
The response to the city’s complaint, which was filed last week by County Attorney Glynn Rollins, also asks the court to deny the city’s motion for a preliminary injunction, and that the city’s prayer for a declaratory judgment be denied.

MARSHALL, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Consolidated Dispatch Authority of Calhoun County, which manages dispatch services for Police, Fire, and EMS agencies in the county, has a millage request on the ballot on August 2.
The request for .98 mils over a 10-year levy would result in a significant investment in countywide 911 services and would provide dedicated funding for the operation of the consolidated 911 center in Calhoun County.
