911 Scandal: Sexually explicit texts between married dispatcher and deputies (TX)

A scandal is unfolding at the Bexar County Sheriffs Office involving sexually explicit text messages which could involve as many as seven law enforcement officers and a married dispatcher. The dispatcher, a sergeant and one deputy are already facing proposed termination.

DC 911 Dispatchers, Call Takers Retrained After Botched Emergency Responses

The District’s 911 call center has come under fire in recent months over some botched dispatches — including at least two incidents in which someone died.

On Thursday, the head of the 911 center revealed that over the past two months, every 911 call taker and dispatcher has undergone retraining.

A dispatcher with the Austin Police Department was able to lead officers to the scene of a homicide by using the sound of the officer’s voices becoming louder on a 911 call, according to a Travis County murder affidavit.
