RapidDeploy yesterday announced Lightning, the company’s mobile application that is designed to support providing first responders in the field with 911 call information and supplementary data—including video feeds—automatically, beginning with a multiyear, statewide contract with the Kansas 911 Coordinating Council.
Jamee Hillman was busy answering some of the over three hundred 911 calls that come into the Grand Forks dispatch center each day. A center that called her for help.
Hillman is what is referred to as a dispatcher on demand. She is the first ever traveling dispatcher in the United States. She has 28 years of experience back home.

HOLBROOK — Director Steve Hooke is pleased to announce that the Holbrook Regional Emergency Communications Center was awarded nearly $17 million in grants for Fiscal Year 2024 from the Massachusetts State 911 Department.
The grant programs award funds to Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) and Regional Emergency Communication Centers (RECCs) for allowable expenses related to operations and new community partnerships, equipment and training.
