LETTER: Were untrained staff in ECC?

Two weeks ago I sent a FOIA request to Greene County requesting information related to the training/certification of County staff working in the Greene County Emergency Communications Center (ECC). I was not required to tell the County why I was making this request; however, in my request I shared, “…my concern is that the GCECC has not been minimally staffed at all times by trained dispatchers, something not shared with Greene County residents, leaving them without the service they deserve and putting first responders at risk due to lack of mandated training.”

San Juan County Dispatchers recognized for exemplary performance

On July 4, 2018, San Juan County 911 received a report of a victim falling 40 feet down a rocky bluff on Obstruction Island and into the water. That call launched a prolonged and complex rescue that involved multiple agencies, presented numerous challenges, and recently led to the San Juan County Dispatch Team receiving the 2019 WA State Telecommunicator Team of the Year Award from the WA Chapters of the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials and the National Emergency Number Association.

Dispatcher for T police sues over firing after his comments about a black protester he saw on TV, says he was ousted because the T discriminates against white people

A Transit Police dispatcher says he’s owed big time for getting fired after watching a TV account of the arraignment of a woman charged with climbing onto the base of the Statue of Liberty in a political protest and telling coworkers she “should go back to Africa,” – because he wasn’t being racist, but merely expressing his political opinions and that if anybody’s being racist, it’s the T for forcing his firing because he’s white.

Hunter Sanders Named Dispatcher of the Month

Since 2015, Hunter Sanders has been dispatching and assisting troopers in what is commonly referred to as Area III (Southwest Indiana). Currently of Ellettsville, Hunter lives with his wife Colte and their 4-month-old son.

Florida 911 Dispatcher Suspended After Telling Man To Get Rid Of Evidence

A 911 dispatcher for the Lee County Sheriff’s Office has been suspended for two days and placed on six months of disciplinary probation after she told a man to dispose of evidence. Authorities say that Amanda Kinzler called a man on a recorded landline who was surrounded by Fort Myers police officers.

She told the man, who was not identified, to “get rid of it,” referring to marijuana he had on him. He told her that he threw in the bushes, and she confirmed that he
