A Peoria man, Nicky McDonald, has been arrested for child
pornography. We are learning more about the case from a Freedom of
Information Request.
McDonald is a registered sex offender and police records show he used public WiFi to access porn sites.
According to police in early August, McDonald was seen sitting
outside of the Peoria Police Emergency Communications Center using their
public WiFi. Their initial investigation showed McDonald was looking up
porn sites on his phone using that WiFi.

BENGALURU: The dial 112 helpline which
was inaugurated with much fanfare by Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, had
its lines choked on Thursday. The newly set up command centre in
Bengaluru has 60 answering points with two Primary Rate Interface
(PRI).

Friday and we received an average of 22,000 calls per hour from Jio
network alone. We received a good response but it was unprecedented,”

(HELTONVILLE) – A coordinated effort between Lawrence County 9-1-1 dispatchers and Pleasant Run Fire Department helped an elderly man who was lost in the woods Saturday afternoon.
Around 1:16 p.m. Saturday, Lawrence County 9-1-1 dispatchers received
a call from a 72-year old male who got lost in the woods on McPike
Branch Road north of Heltonville.
“The 9-1-1 dispatchers used GPS coordinates from the 9-1-1 call and three firefighters using their GPS, as well as using a siren from the fire truck, helped firefighters locate him,” said Chad Hillenburg of Pleasant Run Fire Department.

County 9-1-1 Director Paul Nave said on Friday that he plans to ask
city and county officials to pass a resolution designating 911
dispatchers as first responders.
The request is tied to a federal
bill that would redesignate 9-1-1 dispatchers from secretaries and phone
operators to first responders. If the bill pending in Congress were to
become law, that would make 911 centers eligible for federal grants
earmarked for first responders.
Currently, law enforcement, firefighters and emergency medical service personnel are considered first responders.

SALT LAKE CITY — A 911 dispatch company accused of creating ineffective software is defending itself from allegations in a lawsuit filed earlier this week.
Bre Lasley and
her sister narrowly survived a home invasion four years ago in Salt
Lake City, calling 911 four times as they fought off a man with a knife.
