OREGON,
Ohio (WTVG/Gray News) – A scary situation of alleged domestic violence
ended with the suspected abuser in handcuffs, all because the victim’s
daughter used an innovative approach to seeking help. She dialed 911,
but instead of asking for police, she pretended to order a pizza, WTVG said.
The
victim’s daughter said she used this tactic to keep the person who was
hitting her mom in the dark that she was calling for help. That way, he
wouldn’t run away before police got there.

GORDON, Ala. (WTVY) – A Gordon family is mourning the loss of its long-time family home after a fire left it shambles late last night.
Fortunately, they aren’t mourning the loss of any loved ones, thanks in part to an Ashford Elementary schooler.
“I saw a fire from all the way over there,” said
Ashford Elementary Fifth Grader Brandon Hayes. “It was just high up, see
how it is now? It wasn’t this bad, but still standing up”
Hayes said he could still see the fire every time he closes his eyes.

Westmoreland County commissioners are expected this week to approve
more than $2.7 million in upgrades to the 911 emergency dispatch system.
Public Safety Director Roland Mertz said Tuesday that plans call for
replacement of aging computer-aided dispatch equipment and installation

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – La Crosse County property taxpayers will
continue to save money next year. La Crosse County officials said the
2020 budget keeps taxes in check but provides the funding needed for
road repairs.
The county did need to borrow $5 million,
however, to meet the need for those upgrades. The board also approved
$150,000 for the La Crosse Center, as well as funds to continue
