On August 1, 2019, the FCC adopted a Report and Order to implement the 911 direct dial and notification requirements of the Kari’s Law Act of 2017 for multi-line telephone systems that are deployed in hotels, office buildings, schools and many other locations. The Monitoring Association (TMA) announced the onboarding of its 63rd PSAP in the United States — The Metropolitan Nashville Davidson County Tenn. Department of Emergency Communications.
Launched in 2011 as a public-private partnership, TMA’s ASAP-to-PSAP service is designed to increase the accuracy and efficiency of calls for service from alarm companies to PSAPs.

The Public Safety Center is targeted for completion in late 2020 with an approximate project budget of $18 million. It will house the Currituck County departments of Sheriff, Emergency Management, Emergency Medical Services, and 911 Communications. The building will also include multi-functional space to be used as the county’s Emergency Operations Center when necessary. In addition, the facility will provide offices for N.C.
