Rutherford County Mayor Bill Ketron fires public safety director (TN)

Rutherford County Mayor Bill Ketron fired Public Safety Director Kevin Lauer on Monday for philosophical differences, records suggest.

A human resource document said Lauer lost his job as Rutherford’s first public safety director because of a “conflict of interest between employee and county as to goals and vision for the county.”

The document also said Lauer failed “to keep mayor informed of whereabouts.”
