WILSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — We have an update to a story we shared with you Wednesday after Wilson County dispatch received a number of calls from people in Davidson County during Sunday’s deadly storm.
Many complained that both emergency lines and non-emergency lines were busy. A flaw News 2 was told has since been fixed.

The New Jersey Office of Emergency Management is reporting a rise in the amount of 911 medical calls being made during the Covid-19 pandemic but EMS calls are seeing a decline.
The NJ-OEM said that the other 109 PSAP’s reported their call volume being much lower, somewhat lower or the same and many of the PSAP’s reported overall call volume is down but EMS and administrative calls are higher.

Nikima Thompson died Monday after a long battle with the coronavirus. Thompson who lived in Boca Raton, worked as a dispatcher for the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. According to the Broward County Sheriff Gregory Tony, Thompson is the first police dispatcher to lose her life in the line of duty in Florida.
