Palo Alto County Public Safety Center Update (CA)

The Palo Alto County Public Safety Center is comprised of four different branches. It serves the County as the E-911 / Communications Center, Emergency Management, Sheriff’s Office and Jail. The center was constructed in 1908. Due to the continuing decline in conditions of the Palo Alto County Public Safety Center located at 2001 East 11th Street, the Sheriff recommended to the Board of Supervisors that a feasibility study be completed. Update given on county, city working to combine dispatch centers (NE)

MADISON — A goal that officials described as in the works for about 40 years appears ready to be completed later this year.

At Wednesday’s meeting of the Madison County Board of Commissioners, Sheriff Todd Volk and Norfolk Police Chief Don Miller provided updates on the new communications system and the merger of dispatch services between the two entities.

Northampton citizens urged to sign up for Code Red (VA)

JACKSON – Northampton County has been using the “Code Red” system for a decade now, but less than half of the people in the county are signed up to receive general and emergency alerts.

911 operators lauded as unsung heroes of 2020 (IN)

INDIANAPOLIS—“911. Where is your emergency?” is the first question someone hears after dialing for emergency help. From there, a telecommunicator, as they are called, will do everything in their power to understand the situation so they can get help to the person.
