Coffee County Communications Board terminates 911 Director (TN)

During its February regular meeting Wednesday, the Coffee County Consolidated Communications Board voted to terminate Coffee County 911 Communications Center Director Diane Argraves’ position after she rejected the severance package the board offered.

Lynnville-Sully receives first emergency communication radio (IA)

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office has issued its first emergency communication radio to the Lynnville-Sully School District.

Lt. Brad Shutts said in a press release this emergency radio is equipped with an automatic red alert button to notify Jasper County Communications and all Jasper County law enforcement of an emergency situation at the school. EMSA: 911 overloaded with calls about power outages, medical devices (OK)

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – While many people are concerned about the thought of losing power to their homes, EMSA officials are stressing that you shouldn’t panic. For the past two days, Southwest Power Pool reported that its grid was overloaded.

“We could be in and out of this situation between now and Thursday,” COO of SPP Lanny Nickell said.

Acton, Concord taking next steps toward regional dispatch center (MA)

The towns of Concord and Acton will take their next steps toward a regional dispatch center when the town managers, police and fire chiefs present the findings of a study to the towns’ select boards Feb. 22.
