FORT LAUDERDALE — A 911 supervisor at the Broward Sheriff’s Office has been accused of lying about a fall and then collecting workers’ compensation for it.
Jennifer R. Blum, 45, a communications duty officer since 2000, is facing felony charges related to the workers’ comp claim and falsifying an official document. She has been suspended without pay and could be fired, the Sheriff’s Office announced… READ MORE

SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) -The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office held their 9-1-1 telecommunications awards banquet tonight to celebrate the people on the other line during calls for emergencies.
“You just have to try and not think about anything other than the call you’re on,” said Ashlin Caver, who won telecommunicator of the year through the Texoma Council of Governments. “Keep the person calm, always be the person on the end of the line that they’re going to want to hear. BUCKHANNON — On March 25, 2020, Governor Jim Justice approved House Bill 4123 that was passed by the West Virginia Legislature, clarifying that 911 telecommunication workers are included in the definition of those individuals who perform “emergency services” during a disaster. We often forget about our true “first responders” – our 911 telecommunications personnel in the public safety community. Wichita Falls public safety dispatchers were recognized this week during National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week with a fiesta-style lunch complete with food and decorations.
But it was businesses as usual when it came to taking emergency calls and dispatching crews to people in need.
