BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. –Today, Baldwin County 9-1-1 has announced the  deployment of a global address system, what3words, after it was recently used to save the life of a near unresponsive woman in the county and rescued stranded sailors in Mobile Bay.

It is now encouraging the community to download the free app and be ready to provide their what3words address if ever in an emergency.

Kentucky turns to RapidDeploy, AT&T for statewide 911 mapping, analytics

Public-safety answering points (PSAPs) in the state of Kentucky soon will have the opportunity to leverage cloud-native RapidDeploy mapping and analytics solutions through a statewide deal with AT&T that is designed to help improve response times to emergency calls.

RapidDeploy CEO Steve Raucher said the Kentucky announcement represents the fifth statewide deal for his company’s 911 technology offerings, after previous announcements from the states of the California, Arizona, Kansas and Minnesota—most through the RapidDeploy’s relationship with AT&T. Roxbury’s John Romeo Awarded by County Dispatch Center (NJ)

ROXBURY, NJ – Roxbury resident John Romeo’s work ethic at the Morris County Communications Center is “a model for the agency,” said the center in recently presenting him with its Director’s Award.

NYPD dispatcher heals from wounds, trauma after getting shot in a Bronx park (NY)

She overcame a car accident that took her right arm to become an NYPD dispatcher only to be shot in a Bronx park.

Diffusing fire department battles: Cross-training is key for better understanding and empathy

Years ago, I worked as a consultant with a department that was having some serious conflicts between line firefighters and dispatchers. Because I was hired to work primarily with uniformed firefighters, I mostly heard their side of things. They told stories about dispatch errors and categorized dispatchers as lazy or incompetent. But when I asked what direct experience those firefighters had working and communicating with dispatchers apart from their own emergency response, the answer was very little.
