NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. — A Florida man left no doubt where he was from. A 22-year-old man from Hudson, who sports a state of Florida tattoo on his forehead, is accused of misusing 911, authorities said.
Matthew Kyle Leatham, 22, of New Port Richey, was charged with misuse of the 911 system and possession of marijuana not more than 20 grams, according to Pasco County online booking records…

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) jointly announced today that the Integrated Justice Information Systems (IJIS) Institute will spearhead a $268,000 project to develop interoperability standards for Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems used by the Nation’s public safety agencies.
Managed by S&T’s First Responders and Detection Program on behalf of CISA’s Emergency Communications Division, the research project will seek to rectify the current inability of first responders (i.e., police, fire and emergency management services) to use their CAD systems to electronically exchange information with other CAD systems during a joint emergency response…

Rio Gilinski had only been a 911 emergency operator for 10 months in Jackson County, Oregon, when a very “special” call came in. It was a call from a taxi driver in the city of Ashland, and he was carrying a woman who was carrying something of her own… a baby. And that baby was ready to be born. NOW!.
That was quite a lot to put on Rio…. there were emergency operators that had worked there for 15 years and never received such a call. And now, Rio, the virtual emergency rookie, was in the hot seat…
