McLean County approved a bid with Muhlenberg for a new inmate contract during the Nov. 12 McLean County Fiscal Court meeting. The court also held a first reading for the $5 water service fee to pay for 9-1-1 services.
Additionally, the county held its first reading for a $5 water service fee to be placed on all active water bills within the county.

Rushing to catch up in a digital age, emergency services personnel in Greater Sudbury are poised to make up a great deal of ground in the next couple of years with the implementation of Next Generation 911, or NG911.

NEW HAVEN — An eight-year veteran fire dispatcher for the city died suddenly at the age of 36, according to her obituary.
Angela Yoxall Hurlburt was born in New Haven on May 23, 1984. She died Monday at Yale New Haven Hospital. The cause of death was not immediately known.
She is survived by her husband and two young daughters…

BONNERS FERRY — According to county records, Boundary County commissioners approved $30,000 in spending to acquire a remote dispatch system amid COVID-19 concerns.
A remote dispatch system’s approval occurred on Nov. 1 at a board of commissioners meeting due to recent infections to staff.
According to the report, “there are dispatchers out with COVID, and there is concern that if the current dispatch site needs to be closed down due to the virus, there needs to be a backup site”…

CRAWFORD COUNTY, Pa. — With the dramatic rise in COVID-19 cases in the county over the past few days, the Crawford County Department of Public Safety is making temporary staff changes.
Emergency management, the coroner’s office, and mapping and administrative assistant staff all will work remotely starting Monday, Greg Beveridge, the office’s director, said Friday.
The move is designed to lessen potential COVID-19 exposure to the 911 dispatching staff at the building on Pine Street in Meadville, Beveridge said…
