Conway Police Department hands out end-of-year awards (AR)

The Conway Police Department (CPD) awarded several honors to staff members on Dec. 16 through the department’s Facebook page. While the awards would have normally been announced at CPD’s annual Christmas party, due to COVID-19, the department announced the honors through social media.

Grey County to negotiate new 9-1-1 contract (Canada)

Grey County staff are set to negotiate a new contract for Owen Sound Police Services to continue 9-1-1 call centre services for all emergency calls made throughout Grey County. Grey County Council made the recommendation at their final meeting of 2020.

911 text messaging comes to Navajo and Apache Counties (AZ)

HOLBROOK — Residents in Navajo and Apache counties dealing with an emergency now have the option of sending a text message to 911 operators now that new technology has been implemented.

A Monday, Dec. 21 press release from Navajo County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Tori Gorman stated that the NCSO, the Show Low Regional Public Safety Communications facility and White Mountain Apache Tribal Police Department are all in on the new 911 text messaging option now available because of funding for the required software to get it up an running that came from the Arizona 911 Office…

Cell Phone Outage Causing Issues for Emergency Dispatch Centers in Kentucky

WARREN COUNTY, Ky.- Many 9-1-1 lines around South Central Kentucky are currently down due to the early Friday morning explosion in Nashville near an AT&T switch building.

The Bowling Green Police Department is reporting a widespread problem for their 9-1-1 line.
