Vermont Task Force to Assess State Emergency Communications
Vermont’s Public Safety Communications Task Force announced that it has hired a provider to assess the state’s emergency communications across the board, including the capabilities of each of the 38 emergency communications centers (ECCs) statewide.

911 call center, Talbert House say new 988 partnership going well (OH)
It’s been nearly two years since the federal mandate making the 988 suicide prevention and mental health crises hotline accessible nationwide took effect July 16, 2022.
The Cincinnati Emergency Communications Center and Talbert House say they’re working well together when calls to 911 and 988 overlap. Talbert House operates the 988 crisis hotline in Cincinnati and Hamilton County. (It also serves as a back-up location for other call centers across Ohio.)

Marion County residents have a sense of assurance that if they need to call 911 for help during an emergency, fire, law enforcement and medical personnel are ready to quickly respond. Their calls for help will route to one of the county’s two 911 call centers; one falls under the authority of the county commission and the other – the mayor of Ocala.
