Marion County residents have a sense of assurance that if they need to call 911 for help during an emergency, fire, law enforcement and medical personnel are ready to quickly respond. Their calls for help will route to one of the county’s two 911 call centers; one falls under the authority of the county commission and the other – the mayor of Ocala.
THOMASVILLE, N.C. — The High Point Police Department is helping one of their own after an officer and his wife lost their home to a fire early Wednesday morning.
The home on Grace Drive belongs to High Point Police patrol officer Jason Cano and his wife Therese Varner, a 911 master
telecommunicator. While they are both luckily okay, their home is a total loss.
The Noblesville Common Council recently approved the rezoning of a 22-acre property east of Ind. 37 and Ind. 38 for a new $85 million Hamilton County Public Safety Center.
The building at 18291 Presley Dr. will feature a three-story, 108,000-square-foot emergency operations center for 911 dispatch, emergency operations, training and more.
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Following a statewide 911 call service outage, 911 services in South Dakota have been restored.
At about 6:58 p.m., there was a significant 911 outage that lasted until 9:10 p.m.
At 10:14 p.m., there was an additional outage that lasted until 1:56 a.m.
HOT SPRINGS — The city of Hot Springs plans to forfeit close to $500,000 a year instead of combining its 911 operations with Garland County’s, telling the Hot Springs Board of Directors last month that public safety won’t be served by consolidation.
In a new letter to Oakland, the state agency said it would not take further action. If 911 times do not continue to improve, OPD may be subject to referral to the Attorney General.
