Framingham City Council votes to create regional fire, police dispatch center (MA)

FRAMINGHAM A proposal for a joint regional dispatch center that will handle 911 calls for Framingham and Natick has been approved by the Framingham City Council.

“For a number of years, Framingham has been talking about creating a new, joint-dispatch center,” Sisitsky said. “Currently, we have dual dispatch centers, operating out of the Route 9 fire station and police station. Both of those sites are functionally obsolete, require very expensive upgrades and there just isn’t enough room in those buildings for them to operate properly.”

June 1, 2024 marks the 30th anniversary of the implementation of the countywide 911 Emergency Communications System in Centre County.

Bill requires S.C. 911 operators to be able to give CPR instructions (SC)

The American Heart Association is applauding the passage of a South Carolina policy named Telecommunicator CPR. On Monday, May 20, Gov. Henry McMaster officially signed a bill requiring all S.C. 911 operators to be trained in Telecommunicator CPR and be able to provide instructions over the phone to persons aiding a victim during an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.

Intense night at Redding Citizen’s Academy features dispatchers and chaplain insights (CA)

It was an intense night at the Redding Police Citizen’s Academy on Thursday night.

The next to last session was at Shascom, a secure building in west Redding. Dispatchers at Shascom provide radio service to the Redding police and fire departments, the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office, the Anderson Police Department and the county’s Emergency Medical Services.
