HILLSDALE — Hillsdale County’s 911 administrators are working tirelessly to recruit new emergency dispatchers to bring staff levels back up to 100 percent.
Emergency dispatchers are the first point of contact in an emergency and are often referred to as “the lifeline” for personnel in the field such as firefighters, police officers and paramedics.

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. –Today, Baldwin County 9-1-1 has announced the deployment of a global address system, what3words, after it was recently used to save the life of a near unresponsive woman in the county and rescued stranded sailors in Mobile Bay.

The Indiana Court of Appeals dealt a blow to the Howard County Sheriff’s Office and 911 Communications in a case from a 2015 incident that allegedly caused a woman’s death due to a botched 911 call.
On June 24, the Court of Appeals affirmed an earlier decision to deny a motion for summary judgment of a 2015 wrongful death suit from the estate of Tammy Ford, whose family alleged that the actions of the Howard County Sheriff’s Office and 911 Communications led to her death. The defendants appealed an order denying summary judgment on the complaint by Derrick Duke and Dustin Duke, representatives of the Ford estate, which failed, meaning the case will continue…

MARSHALL COUNTY, KY — Tuesday was a celebration clouded by controversy for Marshall County leaders. Fiscal court members toured the county’s new emergency communications center Tuesday morning.
District 2 County Commissioner Kevin Spraggs said he believes the tour is a result of recent invoices presented to the fiscal court Tuesday. Spraggs said the invoices total $1.2 million for equipment, among other things.
