On Sunday morning at approximately 4:27 a.m., the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 240 block of Blue Bird Road in Falls of Rough to assist Grayson County EMS and the Falls of Rough Volunteer Fire Department with a patient who had called to report breathing problems and chest pain.
The EMS crew advised that the patient was armed and was being uncooperative. Upon Sgt. Jason Luedke’s arrival, he noticed that the man, Dennis Embry, 61, of Falls of Rough, appeared to be under the influence of drugs, according to a GCSO press release.

The state of Florida is requiring commercial buildings, apartments and condos over 75 feet that test below minimum-required coverage levels to have a two-way radio communication signal booster called an Emergency Radio Communication Enhancement System (ERCES) designed and installed…

In December, staffing shortages led the Durham 911 center to begin regularly routing calls through the Raleigh-Wake center, The N&O previously reported. At the time, calls would ring for 30 seconds before automatically transferring to Raleigh.
That program saw about 9% of Durham’s calls sent to Raleigh, and was criticized after some firefighters said it caused dispatching errors and delays… READ MORE

SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Susquehanna County’s new public safety center is almost done.
County officials broke ground one year ago behind the Gibson state police barracks. County commissioners budgeted the $15 million project, which means there will not be a tax hike for residents.
An additional $3 million in grants will pay for new equipment. The 911 center will be updated with state-of-the-art equipment to better respond to an emergency.
The county’s EMA will also be located here along with new offices and situation rooms. Its vehicles will be able to be stored inside a garage for the first time….
