Our results demonstrate that more precise emergency medical dispatching, measured as dispatch priority, accuracy, and medical condition, was not obtained when an EMD had the support of an RN. EMDs working without an RN dispatched most of the calls with the two highest priorities, while when supported by an RN, the proportion of Priority 1 calls was substantially lower. Concordance in the assessment of priority was higher between the EMD and ambulance when the calls were assessed by the EMD alone. Bucco Saluting Role of 9-1-1 First Responder Dispatchers Clears Senate
The Senate today advanced bipartisan legislation sponsored by Senator Anthony M. that would retitle emergency operators as 9-1-1 first responder dispatchers.
“In an emergency, the dispatcher becomes the lifeline between those in distress and the first responders answering the call,” said Bucco (R-25). “These hard-working, highly trained individuals dedicate their lives to helping others, but their heroics are unseen and seldom acknowledged.”

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Bishop Police Department announced in a Facebook post that they are working with the Corpus Christi Police Department’s MetroCom Division to temporarily transfer their public safety communication functions over to CCPD’s dispatch center after their communications division was heavily affected by COVID-19.
Bishop PD said late last week, one of their public safety telecommunicators was transported to the hospital by ambulance. They now remain hospitalized with what has since been confirmed to be COVID-19 related health issues…

The Franklin County Emergency Communications Center is hoping an app that divides the world into three-meter squares will help emergency responders find callers in need who may not know their exact location.
About two years ago, FCECC dispatcher Charli Hall found out that the RapidDeploy location mapping system the Emergency Center used had the capability to use the What3Words app, which assigns three random words to threeby-three meter squares all over the world. NEW LONDON, Mo. — The Ralls County Emergency Services 911 Board of Directors agreed to temporarily cease collecting its 1% sales tax starting May 1 during its meeting Wednesday.
Voters approved increasing the 911 sales tax to 1% — the maximum allowed by state statute — in 2013. In recent years, the tax has generated $1 million annually, including just under $1.25 million in 2021.
