When someone calls 911, they expect the quickest response possible from first responders.
Unfortunately that expectation is not always met in Seattle when it comes to medical emergencies, that is, if your address is on a list of addresses responders are told to wait for police before entering.

New York City, home to the largest and busiest 911 system in the country, is on track to implement a next-generation 911 system in 2024 that can accept photos and videos from callers, according to an annual report released by the city’s Office of Technology and Innovation on Thursday.
“These people are the true first responders,” says Lake County Emergency Management coordinator Mark Clary of the staff at the Dispatch Center, tucked away on the second floor of the courthouse.
North and South County Trailway and Bronx River Pathway users have a new, more advanced, way of getting in touch with Emergency Services – thanks to new Smart Signs QR codes now installed at multiple locations.
