Reps. Kelly Introduces PROTECT 911 Act for 9-1-1 Call-takers and Dispatchers – (D.C.)

Washington, D.C.-(ENEWSPF)- Congresswoman Robin Kelly (D-IL-02), introduced the bipartisan Providing Resources and Occupational Training for Emotional Crisis and Trauma – PROTECT 911 Act – to address important health and wellness issues for our nation’s 9-1-1 call-takers and dispatchers. The introduction of this legislation follows National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, a time to celebrate and thank those who dedicate their lives to serving the public. Congresswoman Norma Torres (D-CA-35) and Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA-01) are original co-leads.

‘Bit of a legend’: Longtime Hadley dispatcher is state’s Telecommunicator of Year (MA)

A lifelong Hadley resident who has been a civilian dispatcher since his high school graduation in the mid-1970s is the state’s Telecommunicator of the Year.

Henry Baj, who has handled dispatching duties on almost every Saturday day shift since the summer of 1976 and in recent years fills other shifts on a regular basis, was recently at the State House, as part of 911 Goes to Boston day, where he was presented with the award from the Massachusetts Communications Supervisors Association.
