12 years. “Traffic, domestics, accidents, you name it,” he says. But to
Evans, the call for help is one he knows well. “I can relate to some of
the people who have been involved, because I’ve been in an accident.”

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A newly released 911 call is shedding light on a horrifying attack against a jogger on a Charlotte greenway.
Police say the 21-year-old woman was targeted near David Taylor Drive around 5:30 p.m. on September 15. Sources familiar with the case tell NBC Charlotte the suspect tackled her to the ground and then tried to pull up her shirt, but she was able to use pepper spray and get away.

The Boaz City Council on Monday approved the hiring he hiring of Ashley Kent as a full-time jailer/dispatcher and Wayne Hunt as a part-time maintenance worker.
It also approved the payment of bills and previous meeting minutes in the only other items requiring action.

A Pierrefonds woman is demanding Urgences Sante explain why it took nearly three hours for the ambulance carrying her husband, to arrive at the hospital.
“I was in panic mode not knowing if my husband was dead, alive…and these guys couldn’t be contacted apparently,” Linda Jones Dion told CTV News.

They are the first people you turn to when you need help, and there’s a shortage of them in some local counties.
Dispatchers work hard, taking calls and making sure people get the help they need.
“We are the first responders, and it is a hard job,” Tracy Williams said.
Right now, Nassau County doesn’t have enough of them. As a result, the
20 dispatchers on the job now are overworked. Including Williams, who
has been a dispatcher for 17 years.
