After at least 10 years of
brainstorming and back-and-forth, an E-911 Joint Communications Center
that houses dispatch representatives from the City of Columbus and
Platte County is up and running.
The
facility, located within the Administration Building at Columbus
Municipal Airport, directs all emergency calls to one centralized
location where city and county dispatchers work as a single unit to
ensure an appropriate, rapid response is given, every single time.

JASPER COUNTY, S.C. (WTOC) – Earlier this week it was confirmed Jasper County had a cyber attack on their countywide systems, including email and emergency response systems.
At that time, county officials said 911 and emergency dispatch services were not having any issues as a result of the cyberware attack. Now, that may not be the case.
