Boone County 911 director in Arkansas encourages people to make Smart911 profile (AR)

HARRISON, Ark. — Smart 911 is not only helpful for dispatchers and first responders. The Boone County 911 director says it also could help save your life.

Without saying a word, you can now tell emergency dispatchers a lot.

“If it’s a medical call, we can share that information: what medications you’re on or equipment you use to help you breathe, with EMS,” said Daniel Bolen, the Boone County 911 director.

Three longtime female dispatchers for the East Bank Consolidated Fire Department in Jefferson Parish have filed a sexual discrimination lawsuit in federal court claiming a supervisor routinely passed over women for promotions and had inappropriate relationships with subordinates.

Foister named 911 director (TN)

The Putnam County 911 District has a new director.

Penny Foister was named as the director at the October 911 board meeting through a unanimous vote.

Foister began her career in 1992 as a paramedic.

She later served as a 911 training officer and was named assistant director… in 2014.

Southern Idaho Regional Communications dispatcher Angel Hunsaker was named Communicator of the Year at the Idaho Public-Safety Access Point conference for public safety communications hosted Tuesday in Boise.

Some 911 dispatchers are sounding the alarm about a system they say is putting lives in danger.
