SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Rudy Salas (D-Bakersfield) joined a group of public safety dispatchers from across the state, on Jan. 22, for a press conference to celebrate Assembly Bill 1945 (AB 1945), which would recognize the brave work of public safety dispatchers by classifying them as first responders. Currently, the Federal government describes dispatchers as an “administrative” occupation. Loveland couple Chelsea Johnson and William Walters were at their son’s music recital on the evening of Friday, Dec. 13 when Johnson, who was pregnant with her third child, started to have contractions.
The family headed home to pack a bag for the hospital and get ready to drop the kids off with Walters’ parents when all of the sudden, Johnson’s water broke. Walters tried to carry her to the car but her contractions started to come so fast that they couldn’t even make it that far…

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) — The Eau Claire Police Department is warning people to be on the lookout for a phone scam that’s been circulating.
According to the police department, a scammer is using the Eau Claire Communications Center phone number and identifying themselves as an Eau Claire police officer or detective.
